KING LIVING / THE ROOM PROJECT

I was invited to take part in the King Living Room project, where I got to style my dream room using the King Living Neo sofa as the hero piece in my space.

I took inspiration from international artist Yves Klein and the rich, deep blue colour he created known as Klein blue. I designed the scheme to be elegant and chic with a monochrome background to allow the Klein blue to accent.

Keeping the background of the space neutral and accenting with a bold colour (in this scheme the Yves Klein blue) accents perfectly against the monochromatic background of greys, black and white.

I loved creating this space using the Neo sofa whilst accenting with the Oliver tub chairs, in a black velvet fabric with the Faye cushions in leather and the Venus and Mars nesting tables with marble tops.

The generous proportion of the Neo sofa, and the fact that you can re-configure the chaise to suit you is brilliant. It allows you to move things around and change your space without having to change the sofa itself. The design has traditional elements, which make it an instant classic, but is also so contemporary and perfect for the now.

We shot on location at the King living head quarters where the set I designed was constructed. Timber wall paneling and a mid grey timber floor gave the space a contemporary luxe feel, perfect for the King pieces.

A bold monochromatic painting by Kerry Armstrong created a focal point in the space and sits perfectly behind the sofa.

I brought in some glam accessories and objects in brass, gold, marble and leather to layer and style the space. The finishing touches were some chic, simple florals and an indoor plant.
